Well this French film is perfect!!!
It is only every 10 years that we can watch a good French film”… Everything needed to make a great movie was there and I am so proud as a Frenchman to say that for finally a French movie it is a masterpiece!!!! First of all the main story is great, everyone can watch this movie, it is aimed at all audiences children, teenagers, adults, elderly people… the adaptation of the novel is really well done and it is not easy to do especially when such big fans of the books expect a lot from the movie!!!
I hope that not only France can watch this movie and show other countries that France can make movies like this!!
But the scenario is so nice, 3 hours of movie was not long at all, I did not want the movie to end I really immersed myself in the journey of the main character, we want to know what happens after each moment we do not take our eyes off the screen it’s crazy! The story of the character of Monte Cristo is so beautiful and touching and you witness his story throughout the movie and it is so passionate and 3 hours is perfect to discover the whole story (Beginning of life, betrayal, revenge…) the story is moving and so fascinating!!! Pierre Niney’s acting skills are great as in every movie he has played and the other actors and actresses, same for Laurent Lafitte, I am not a big fan of him but he did such a good performance in his bad character, I hope these two actors will each win a Cesar at the end of the year!!! The director’s staging and filming was so nice that we were not used to having a staging like this in France and the two directors showed us that we could do it even if we did not have the same budget as Hollywood, the filming was very beautiful!!!

Finally the soundtrack, the makeup and the different costumes worn by the actors were great, all these points were perfect thanks to the people who worked on it, there are so many things to say about each thing but all are good and tomorrow I will still be here to say great things about each feature!!! The environments of the film were great too and finally 43 million budget?!??!!?? Sorry? But the movie looks like a budget of 100 million at least it’s crazy it shows once again why this movie is a masterpiece because to make great shots with great sets with a movie for 3 hours for only 43 million budget is incredible and I don’t think people are aware of that it’s crazy!!!
This movie from France is a masterpiece that’s all, if you don’t like it you don’t like cinema sorry!
