Designed for one person—up to 250 pounds—REI’s Quarter Dome Air Hammock is a minimalist alternative to a tent. Lightweight and easy to set up and take down, it’s made of 15-denier ripstop nylon to provide tear-resistant protection.
Settling into a fabric sling is great for relaxing or napping, but it doesn’t offer the support needed for a good night’s sleep. REI solved that by creating a flat 81-inch by 23-inch platform bottom stabilized by tension lines created with permanently attached shock-corded poles. It’s the best of both worlds: sleeping suspended in air with sturdy support.
The hammock sets up with Dacron® anchor lines and a secure clip system for a lightweight yet strong connection between the hammock and the strap kit. Guylines on the four corners have tension locks for quick and easy adjustments.
The canopy is made of mesh to keep the bugs out. Or, the hammock can be flipped over to sleep net-free. A removable rainfly sets up quickly and mesh side pockets and loops at the ceiling ridgeline offer storage options. For more information, visit www.rei.com.
