Cooley highlights importance of advanced technologies in commercial building retrofits
Cooley Group announced the contribution of its proprietary energy efficient C3® roofing product to the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) Building Technology Showcase. Located in the City of Boston’s Innovation District, the CSE Showcase is a first-of-its-kind research and demonstration building that highlights sustainable technologies.
Under the partnership, Cooley is one of 35 companies that have contributed a combined total of $2.7 million in advanced building energy technologies and services for the new “living laboratory.”

Cooley C3® incorporates DuPont Elvaloy®, is inherently fire retardant and offers exceptional chemical and microbial growth resistance with wick-resistant industrial strength polyester scrim and a patented aramid reinforced edge. Cooley C3® is 100 percent recyclable into new Cooley C3® roofing products.
Fraunhofer CSE is performing a deep energy retrofit and renovation of the 100-year-old building at 5 Channel Center in Boston. The project will help technology developers prove their products and will showcase these technologies in a state-of-the-art exhibition and educational space open to the public.
