Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters (DRASH) by DHS Systems were recently used by the Air National Guard and New York City’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in a joint training event designed to help civilian and military agencies learn to integrate forces to better respond to large-scale emergencies. DRASH Shelter Systems used include a Mass Fatality Processing and Decontamination Center, Negative Pressure Isolation Suite and a Command and Control Center. The basic shelter, which integrates mobility, lighting, heating, cooling and power distribution, consists of a frame with two pre-attached covers and a ground cover. A double layer of fabric is fire retardant, mildew and UV resistant, and water repellent.
