Kuraray Co. Ltd., Fort Mill, S.C., has completed expansion of its Vectran® fiber manufacturing facility in Saijo City, Japan. The manufacturing facility in Fort Mill has also undergone recent improvements to increase capacity. The company said it is increasing production of its Vectran fiber by 40 percent, to 1,000 tons annually. This fiber is the world’s only multifilament yarn melt spun from liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and is used in a wide range of applications where strength, durability, and dimensional stability are critical to performance and safety.
