Chronology
It tells the story of three very different families who compete to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they think will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano appeared in the Ice Age franchise (2002-present). I was surprised that the show was rated so low, but it made more sense after seeing many reviews explaining how they didn’t get past the first episode. The show is a slow-paced mystery romp that may not be for everyone. Personally, I found it to be very funny and entertaining with a tone that is specific to Liz Feldman that I enjoy. I really like the cast and everyone’s performances. Ray Romano didn’t sell me at first due to my own prejudices (I couldn’t separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond for the life of me), but that wore off pretty quickly. All the different characters have their own side stories that form a tangled web of chaos that gradually, though not completely, unravels. By the last episode, I was pretty invested in the story, despite figuring out the main plot twist very early on. I’m not mad about it though. I’d love to see more of this series and I really hope it gets a second season. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly — here’s the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
