Gore opens fabrics testing facility

L. Gore & Associates, Inc., Elkton, Md., has opened the Biophysics and Heat and Flame Protection Labs, a state-of-the-art fabric testing facility. There, Gore engineers will be able to measure the properties of component materials, Gore laminates and fully constructed garments and footwear in new, expanded and relevant conditions. The facility will enable Gore to simulate common to extreme real-world environmental conditions, as well as properties of flame resistance, thermal insulation and thermal stability, to scientifically measure and analyze the impact of a product and understand its functionality even before it is brought to market.
