Chronology
A two-hour window into the heart of Hayao Miyazaki’s creative process, the documentary chronicles six long years of work on the Japanese animation master’s latest film, The Boy and the Heron. moving and funny documentary. Kaku Arakawa can closely follow Hayao Miyazaki’s creative process in making The Boy and the Heron. It beautifully combines scenes from Miyazaki’s films with real people involved in the making of the film and people who are/were important to Miyazaki. I saw this film at the Helsinki International Film Festival Love and Amplitude; Anarchy. Some moments made the audience laugh out loud and sometimes people brushed their teeth. I hope Miyazaki can make more movies. I cannot recommend this documentary to any ghibli fans.
