Two Rhode Island medical textile firms merge

Biomedical Structures LLC and Concordia Manufacturing LLC, both of Warwick, R.I., have combined to expand further into the medical textile manufacturing sector. Both companies specialize in braided and woven fabrics, such as knit mesh used in hernia and urologic surgery, and see opportunity in the rapidly growing fields of orthopedics and regenerative medicine. The new company will operate under the Biomedical Structures name; president and CEO John Gray plans to double the merged company’s workforce within the next five years.
